Privacy Policy — Kestrel Control Tower

Kestrel Control Tower ("the App") is an internal operations tool for employees and authorised contractors of Kestrel Liner Agencies LLP ("Kestrel", "we"). It is not offered to the general public. This policy explains what the App collects, why, and how it is handled.
Who can use the App
Only people with a Kestrel-issued login. Accounts are created and removed by Kestrel management. There is no self-registration and no in-app purchases or advertising.
Information the App collects
- Account information — your work email address, name and role, used to sign you in and to record who performed an action (for example, who photographed a shipment or saved a record).
- Photos and documents — pictures of cargo, labels and paperwork that you take or upload inside the App. These are business records attached to the shipment they relate to.
- Approximate and precise location — used only while the App is open, to confirm which warehouse you are working at and to tag cargo photos with the facility. Location is not tracked in the background and is not used for any other purpose.
- Camera — used to scan barcodes and take cargo photos. Nothing is captured without you pressing the button.
- Usage and diagnostic data — timestamps of actions, the module you were using and error reports, so we can support the team and fix problems.
How the information is used
To run Kestrel's freight operations: tracking shipments, documenting cargo condition, coordinating the warehouse floor and reporting to customers. Data is used for no other purpose.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Cargo photos and shipment details may be shared with the customer who owns that cargo and with the carriers, terminals and customs authorities involved in moving it — that is the purpose of the records. Our infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, database and email delivery) process data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.
Storage and security
Data is stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure in the United States. Access requires an authenticated session; sessions expire automatically. Actions are logged. Photos and documents are kept as long as the related shipment records are kept, in line with Kestrel's record-retention obligations, then deleted.
Your choices
- You can decline the camera or location permission on your device; the corresponding features will not work but the rest of the App will.
- To see, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to close your account, contact mrohra@kestrel.com.
Children
The App is for working adults only and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
